About Us

Studying the history of the London Missionary Society (LMS) is a prerequisite to understanding the history of CSI. Near the bus depot in the Tirupattur district is where you’ll find Christ Church. In 1795, the London Missionary Society (LMS) was established in the City of London. The Society was founded by a few Christians in the City of London. This location sent hundreds of missionaries to different regions of the world. They were dispatched especially to India to preach the gospel. The London Missionary Society sent 1800 missionaries worldwide between its founding in 1795 and 1945, the bulk of whom were stationed in England and Scotland. These missionaries sent engineers to work in countries all over the world, such as China, India, Africa, Australia, and several Pacific Island countries.
